Engineering Efficiency For The Future

Sean Adkins has been promoted to the position of Director, Technical and Operations. Sean has been with the company for almost 20 years in a series of positions with progressive responsibility in maintenance management, environmental engineering, safety management and project management. His new role will allow him to focus on greater efficiencies and cost savings that will help shape the company’s future.

Specifically, Sean is responsible for streamlining day-to-day operations of the company’s maintenance and engineering departments, and will also oversee Plant #8. Plant #8 was originally built in 1928 and is now one of the production facilities with the most automation.

Sean is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Science in Safety and Environmental Management, both from West Virginia University.

“My immediate goal is on increasing efficiency, cost savings and quality improvements at Plant #8. Longer-term, I’m looking at ways to boost our profitability and find operational improvements to better our manufacturing processes, company-wide. The story of Homer Laughlin is one that shows how American craftsmanship and manufacturing can endure through the ages, and continue well into the future. I’m proud to play a part in helping to shape that future.”

Congratulations, Sean!
